Welcome to Boatright Kennels!

Hi, I’m Hillary Boatright, owner and caregiver at Boatright Kennels. Here’s a short (or maybe not so short) history of how Boatright Kennels came to be…I believe life is a journey and all of my life experiences have led me to operating a very special kennel. When I was a teenager I started working at a veterinary clinic cleaning cages. After working in the kennel for about two years I began assisting Dr. Lora Pigott DVM in her veterinary practice. I worked as Dr. Pigott’s technician for five years as I was attending college.

While attending Southwest Texas State University I became interested in microbiology and nutrition. This led me on a different path on my journey. While studying nutrition I started working the front desk at Body Business Fitness in Austin. This is where I began to learn what customer service was all about. After I graduated, with my degree in Consumer Science (major: Foods and Nutrition), I became a personal trainer and an aerobics instructor at Body Business. My time at Body Business has proven to be an invaluable lesson in the importance of superior customer service. In my case, the importance of customer service and sincere care of you and your dog is key to the success of Boatright Kennels.

When my children started elementary school, I began working part-time for Dr. Carol-Lynne Meissner at Mobile Veterinary Services. Working for Mobile Veterinary Services expanded my knowledge of dogs in a variety of ways. Maybe the most important lesson that I learned was that each dog and his family are unique. A design for caretaking of a dog( and his human family )should be individualized. Careful attention to special needs of both the dog and the owner will insure a good experience while boarding. Dr. Meissner DVM and I have an ongoing friendship and professional relationship. This is a huge asset to Boatright Kennels and all of the dogs that board with us.

The Kennel is an extension of my home. I care for your dog like he/she is my own. Compassion, patience, warmth, happiness, and fun are what your dog will find in the time he/she is visiting us. Having a small kennel makes it easy for me to get to know each dog as an individual and personalize his care while he/she is a guest with us.

Boatright kennels provides a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for your dog while you are away. I look forward to meeting you and your dog.
